Bluesy’s humble beginnings started running a record shop in the back of a clothing store. Aged 13, he soon after joined Kool FM and Jungle Fever in 1996 where he was taught by Eastman (Owner of the station and sound system DJ) the runnings of two established brands Jungle Fever and Kool FM where he hosted many shows regularly through out the years and worked alongside Eastman for over a decade and a half. In 2006 Bluesy established Kool London as Kool FM’s sister online station which later merged as Kool London. Kool FM is noted as one of the worlds longest running pirate stations which has won numerous awards for being a prominent force in the Jungle Drum & Bass community.
Simon Reynolds called it “London’s ruling pirate station” in an account of the beginnings of jungle music in the early to mid 1990s.Similarly, Billboard magazine referred to Kool FM as “leading jungle station” in a 1995 report about the genre.
Kool FM’s history and that of its rave arm Jungle Fever are detailed extensively in Brian Belle-Fortune’s book All Crews Journeys Through Jungle Drum & Bass Culture (2004 Vision Publishing) and in Frederik Birket-Smith – Just 4 U London – Pirate Radio in a Geographic Perspective with interviews from Bluesy and Eastman.
